Welcome to Mrs. Tischleder's MUR class!
Your child will be bringing home a MUR folder this week. It is a plastic binder folder that contains a journal, sight word bag, and book(s). Please encourage your child to re-read and share their learning with you at home. Also in their MUR folders will be a homework reading log. Our class's MUR homework will be to participate in a reading activity for 20 minutes each day. All students need to bring this back on Fridays for me to check. Your child may also be asked to "fix" or "finish" their word work. If your child needs to do this, it will be written on their word work. They will then need to return to me.
Our word work stations consist of:
- Write it, Say it, Stamp it, Build it
- Word Race
- Rainbow Writing
- Look. Say. Write. Check. Fix.
- Writing Sentences
- Lexia
Each day your child will get 25 minutes to practice reading, writing, and spelling words that follow a pattern at their instructional level during their word work time.
They will also have 25 minutes in a small group with Mrs. Tischleder, practicing reading skills at their instructional level.
